Abstract
Infrared studies have been made on several mono and bis terpyridyl—rare earth (III) halide complexes. The results obtained in the 650-80 cm −1 region are presented. Assignments for the rare earth metal—chloride and metal—bromide stretching vibrations are made. The results do not allow assignments to be made for metal—nitrogen vibrations.
