Abstract

Infrared spectra of silyl methyl ether in three isotopic forms, SiH 3OCH 3, SiD 3OCH 3 and SiD 3OCD 3, are reported for the gas and solid phases over the frequency interval from 4000-280 cm −1. Vibrational assignments, largely of a qualitative nature, are given. Several features in the spectra indicate a decidedly bent skeleton but it was not possible to deduce a quantitative measure of the SiOC angle.
