Abstract

Infra-red spectra have been obtained for some α-aminophosphinic acids, their hydrochlorides and sodium salts, in KBr pellets. The zwitterionic structure of these acids has been supported by the appearance of the characteristic absorption of the ⊕NH 3 ⋯ anion ⊖ system and by the detection of characteristic v(antisym., sym.)PO 2 vibration frequencies of the (PO 2) group.
