Abstract
Ephedrine hydrochloride complexes of Ca(II), Sr(II) and Ba(II) non-transition metal ions were prepared. The chelation mode of the ephedrine hydrochloride compound towards metal ions was discussed based on infrared and Raman spectra. The neutral bidentate is a coordination mode of ephedrine bonding. The 1 H–NMR of Sr(II) complex also, supporting the coordination of the ligand in its neutral state as proposed previously.
