Abstract
The photodissociation rate of cyanobenzene cation at 568 nm is significantly enhanced in the presence of cw infrared laser irradiation which induces multiphoton dissociation of vibrationally excited molecules. The infrared photodissociation spectrum exhibits a pronounced band at 970 cm −1. The ions are formed and trapped (≈s 2 s) using the ion cyclotron resonance techniques.
