Abstract

Thin film transmission spectra of binary solutions of pentachlorophenol in pyridine were measured in the 4200–500 cm −1 range. From these data the spectra of both components of the complex refractive index and of the complex electric permittivity were obtained in the studied IR region. The molar vibrational polarization of the H-bonded complex was determined and compared with data obtained from previously studied pentachlorophenol complexes.
