Abstract
Infrared and Raman spectra were obtained for methyl trifluoroacetate and a vibrational assignment has been made. This compound exists in a single molecular conformation and it has been concluded from the depolarization ratio (0.63) of the Raman CCO 2 out-of-plane bending band that the molecule is unsymmetrical.
