Infrared and 1H NMR spectra of five co-ordinate complexes of the bis(N,N′-diethyldithiocarbamato)zinc with the pyridine and other related nitrogen donors

Abstract

Five coordinate complexes of bis(N,N′-diethyldithiocarbamato)zinc with pyridine, 2-picoline, 3-picoline, 4-picoline and quinoline have been prepared. The i.r. spectra of these complexes in the range of 4000 cm −1 to 700 cm −1 are discussed in terms of coordination of the pyridine and other related nitrogen donors. The 1H NMR spectra have also shown the pyridine and other nitrogen donors are coordinated to bis(diethyldithiocarbamato) zinc in solution.
