Abstract
The infra-red (3100-300 cm −1) and Raman spectra of liquid CH 3SCN and CD 3SCN have been obtained as well as infra-red spectra of the more intense bands in the vapour phase and interpreted in terms of a C S structure. The vibrational assignment of the fundamentals is complete for both molecules with the exception of the methyl torsional frequency in CD 3SCN.
