Abstract

The article provides the reader with an overview of the complete set of journalistic genres practiced in the media of the Czech Republic. The characteristics of information and journalistic genres are discussed, as well as their main distinguishing features, polemical positions in the literature on the Czech media system. The text contains current and historical data on the shaping, understanding and practice of individual types of statements in the field of professional and citizen journalism in both classic and new media.
