Abstract

A new turn in information revolution contributed to the formation of a new universal identity of the uniform postindustrial society. We refer to this phenomenon as the concept of a “New axial period”. The system of education, like all cultural institutions, turned out to be not ready for such a breakthrough in creating a new reality that entails certain problems. Among the problems are: pedagogical conservatism, technical underdevelopment of universities, information and technological imbalance in regions, a technocentric-anthropocentric methodological divide, poor moderate ability and the Internet traffic monitoring. If the educational institutions just follow the rapidly developing technologies, they will inevitably lag behind and the acquired knowledge will not bring them into line with the new realities. We suggest that educational institutions cooperate more closely with the software and hardware developers. Note that all the problems in education in the field of information technologies are not only and not so far the result of local failures and shortcomings. The education problems are quite regular; therefore, today there is the need for a qualitative new approach to the learning processes.
