Abstract

The information-theoretical properties of a sequence of quantum nondemolition measurements are investigated in detail. It is found that the information gain by quantum nondemolition measurement is equal to the entropy decrease of the measured physical system. Under certain conditions, the complete information about a discrete observable of the physical system can be obtained when a sufficiently large number of measurements are performed.
