Abstract
ABSTRACT The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Library Information Technology Arcade (Info Tech Arcade) has facilitated research and teaching on campus, assisted faculty with their information technology needs, consulted on library Web sites for various organizations city-wide, and hosted servers for a dozen institutions in the nation. With a small budget, a wide-ranging collection of equipment and software, and staffed by three librarians, the Info Tech Arcade provides expertise in information content as well as technology skills development. Through seminars, open hours in our multimedia teachers' lab, office visits, Web consulting, and server hosting, it reaches out to UIC faculty, citizens of Chicago, and beyond.
