Abstract

Both analytically inclined geographers and mobilities scholars have examined the interrelations of transportation and information technology (IT) use. Over time research interests have broadened from a strong focus on substitution of physical movement by IT use to the myriad ways in which IT use and travel practices have become integrated into mobile lives, thereby reshaping experiences of mobility and place, social relations and social hierarchies.
