Abstract

The present mini-review projects the important roles of IT scientific tools during the pandemic situation of COVID-19 across the globe. The study sheds light on the IT technological driven processes to combat the current COVID-19 situation. The principles of information science have well collaborated with different scientific domains ranging from telemedicine to medical robotics, development of QR codes to differentiate the infected individuals. The development of supercomputers uses big data science and data mining tools to develop a mega database and e-library related to COVID. The present study also highlights the importance of BLAST techniques, app-based technologies, drone techniques, and cloud computing especially the human cloud. The review summarizes the important strategies implemented by great nation United states to curb and control the spread of COVID-19 infections with the roles of CDC and FDA governing bodies along with the collaborative roles of IT firms. The study marks the influence of IT sectors in academics with online learning platforms. The study envisions the upcoming roles of information science in the post-COVID-19 era which can aid to uplift the global economic standards with the implementation of technologies like automated processing, rapid adoption internet of things (IOT), and edge computing.
