Abstract
Information requirements specification (IRS), although vital for systems design and implementation, constitutes the Achilles heel in the system life cycle (SLC). This article describes a comprehensive, innovative approach integrating brainstorming and Theory Z principles, culminating in a maximal, rapid, and attainable IRS. This is achieved at an early stage of the SLC by consensus among the users themselves with the participation of data processing professionals.
