Abstract

This paper describes the development of non-bibliographic information networks in India and their potential impact on the library documentation and information services in the country. It highlights the use of information technology in Indian libraries and information centres and discusses other national and regional cooperative systems and their programmes and services. It examines the recent developments in telecommunications in the country and the promise they hold for shared access to library resources and gives the chances of the development of bibliographic networks and systems in future.
