Abstract

Some issues relating to property in information are reviewed in the light of recent work on the economic theory of property rights. According to this theory, costs of transaction are central to the evaluation of property rights and related public policy. Accordingly, special circumstances relative to transaction costs are considered in the cases of public libraries, photocopying, computer software, and satellite television feeds.
