Abstract

A high number of manual processes and product variants characterizes rework areas in manufacturing companies. This often results in a weak spot on process validation and documentation. Experienced employees with detailed knowledge about the processes are required because work-plans and assistance systems are inflexible. To improve the flexibility and worker-assistance, this article presents a data and information-structure to configure flexible work-plans for manual work-stations at rework site. Flexible work-plans consider the error cause and the employees’ qualification as well as product, process and resource data. The dynamic configuration and setup of work-plans are implemented and validated in a rework testbed.
