Abstract

The introduction, implementation, application and adoption of ICT services are essential for sustainable growth and development of agricultural sector of India. The desired higher growth in agricultural sector can be achieved only when there is proper application of ICT with adequate investments from both public and private sectors. Since ICT helps in information dissemination in less time with effective ways of communication, its implementation cannot be ignored. There is a great scope to implement ICT in order to communicate and integrate the entire agri-food supply chain as in the case of e-choupal in Madhya Pradesh and ikisan, Kisan Call Centers (KCCs), Village Knowledge Centres (VKCs), The Gyandoot Project, AGMARKNET, etc. in rest of the country.
