Abstract

The article deals with information and communication technologies as a means of teaching foreign languages to students of non-linguistic technical universities. The role of the teacher as an organizer, leader, expert and consultant of the student’s work is justified. It is considered the necessity of using of new information technologies in the learning process. Electronic learning tools which form the development of creative activity of students, motivation of cognitive activity are described. The use of the electronic textbooks in the process of teaching foreign languages is approved. The lack of a common approach to the development of methods of practical distance learning courses is shown.
