Abstract

This reports on empirical research into the processes involved in repossession of homes from owners and tenants, with a particular focus on how information about the occupier's non-financial circumstances become known to decision-makers. The research involved: interviewing elite actors, observing court cases and duty advice schemes, surveys of housing advisers and court administrators, and analysis of legal rules and court forms.
