Abstract
Public participation in urban development has become an important and well researched topic in the last decade. Many different methods and tools have been developed, only often without a proper evaluation strategy containing an impact analysis. As a first step this paper presents an overview of influencing factor required for such an analysis. Separated in the fields context, process, output as well as project preparation and methods 13 factors have been identified and described. Upcoming research will complete the impact analyse, of which these first points can be seen as the “Input” in an impact matrix. As a working paper it should enable project leader of citizen participation projects to keep the most important factors influencing the result in mind.
