Abstract

Objective To explore the influencing factors of anxiety and depression in patients with chronic heart failure ( CHF), in order to provide direction and basis of clinical treatment and care. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on 60 patients with CHF who were investigated by self-rating depression scale (SDS) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS). Results The rates of anxiety and depression in CHF patients were 36.67% and 53.33%, respectively. Course of disease, occupation and economic status were related with anxiety and depression ( P 〈 0. 05 ). Educational level was related with the rate of anxiety (P 〈 0. 05 ). Cardiac function was the main influencing factor of depression and anxiety (β = 1. 005, 0. 855;P 〈 0. 05; 95% CI: 1. 236 - 6. 035, 1. 075 - 5. 139). Conclusions A variety of factors are related with occurrence of anxiety and depression in patients with chronic heart failure. Psychological intervention is urgently required.
