Abstract

In recent years, the high efficiency and other advantages of isothermal engine have attracted more and more attention, and the research of isothermal cycle engine is more and more in-depth. So the concept of ITB is put forward in order to realize the multi-stage expansion reheat process in the expansion stage and increase the engine cycle work. In this paper, ITB in turbojet engine is taken as the research object. The working principle of Interstage-Turbine Burner (ITB) is introduced in this paper, and we studied some influencing factors and improvement schemes for ITB. Research shows that: The scheme of ITB at present mainly uses the ultra compact combustor (UCC). And adopting different gas parameters, such as equivalent ratio, inlet mass flow splits, or changing the UCC structure, such as install throttle plate, as well as changing the cavity shape, will impact on engine performance. And adjusting the different parameters can make the engine performance optimal. At the same time, the Trapped-vortex combustor (TVC) in ITB can make the UCC perform better.
