Abstract

This document presents results from an investigation into the effect of the use of video games in the education of higher-level students. The objective is to determine whether this technology influences their studies, which is done through field research with a quantitative approach; level descriptive –explanatory. A survey was designed for data collection, which was applied to university institutions in the municipality of Mazatlán, Mexico.Among the most relevant results it was found that, for the most part, the subjects of study did not perceive to be addicted to video games, but they claim to play up to more than 21 hours per week. It could be concluded that there is no addiction to video games or that they do not negatively impact their studies.
