Abstract

AbstractFe‐based soft magnetic wire with transverse magnetic anisotropy was obtained by stress current annealing. Its circular permeability, µ = µ′ – jµ″, has been determined from the measurements of impedance, Z = R + jωL, as a function of frequency (f = 10 – 105 Hz), AC current amplitude (I = 0.1 – 100 mA) and DC bias field (H = 0 – 5.4 kA/m). An experimental study of the influence of H upon the circular magnetization and the f‐dependent µ = µ′ – jµ″ has been performed. It is concluded that the axial field, H, evolution of the circular permeability, µ = µ′ – jµ″, the relaxation frequency, fτ, and the eddy‐current anomaly factor, η, can be explained in terms of the modification of domain structure by the applied axial field H.
