Abstract

Reported here is the various levels of Zn2+ incorporated NiO nanocrystals derived from a simple chemical precipitation method. The synthesized products were analyzed for XRD, FTIR, FESEM, magnetic studies (VSM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements. Magnetic characterization shows a conversion of NiO from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic on the introduction of Zn2+ within NiO lattice. The cyclic voltammetry measurements showed higher rate of specific capacitance (876Fg−1) for the NiO incorporated with 0.05M of Zn2+ which made it promising electrode material for the super capacitor application.
