Abstract

Modified USY was prepared by ion exchange of USY slurry with Y (NO3)3 solutions. Double noble metal catalyst supported on USY and YUSY was prepared by an ion exchange method. The materials were characterized by NH3-TPD, XRD, CO chemisorption, and TPR. The activity for the hydrogenation of tetralin was examined in a high-pressure fixed-bed continuous-flow stainless steel catalytic reactor. Thiotolerance of the catalysts was tested with a feed of 200 ppm sulfur in the form of thiophene. It was shown that the conversion of tetralin in clean feed decreases with the increase of Y content except for the catalyst of Y 2 wt%. In the presence of sulfur, the tetralin conversion on PdPt/YUSY catalysts of Y 2 wt% is higher than others.
