Abstract

During 1994 and 1995, the efficacy of reduced dosages of herbicides under different weather circumstances was tested. Effective control of the weeds present in winter wheat fields was possible by foliar application of reduced dosages of a (spray) mixture of bifenox/mecoprop (Verigal) and fluroxypyr (Starane). Even a quarter of the normal dose resulted in adequate control in number or weight of weeds, provided the environmental conditions before spraying were good. After 3–4 days with high radiation, low RH and dry weather, however, control was insufficient. In 1995, the control of non‐hardened Veronica hederifolia with a 12.5% dosage was at least as good as the control of hardened Veronica with a full dosage.
