Abstract

This work presents a survey of the macrofauna and the chemical fertility of the soil in two sample areas in the same valley; it verifies if the type of vegetation cover positively impacts on the greater diversity and quantity of edaphic macrofauna; as a consequence of the increase in macrofauna, it verifies if there is a correlation between the macrofauna population and soil fertility. The comparison is made between two areas: area 01, occupied with Brachiaria brizantha integrated with native cerrado trees and area 02 occupied only with Brachiaria brizantha.
