Abstract

The influence of plastic deformation by ultrasonic burnishing on the surface roughness of Р6М5 and 9ХС steel workpieces with initial surface hardness 57–60 HRC is investigated. A D-optimal Hartley–Kono experiment design is used. The four factors considered are the workpiece’s rotation frequency, the supply, the loading force, and the ultrasound power.
