Abstract

Although iron oxides in soils are the secondary component of soil clay, they have attracted the attention of many soil chemists. This is because iron oxides are highly active, are easily changed with a change in soil condition, and can exert influences on chemical, physical and biological properties of the soil. The purpose of the present work is to study the transformation of iron oxides during the course of submergence or dehydration of the soil and its influence on soil structure under laboratory conditions.
