Abstract

The influence of the damping shell corrections with increasing excitation energy on the fission fragment angular anisotropies is considered. In the framework of the statistical approach to nuclear fission, experimental data on fission fragment angular anisotropies obtained in the 4He + 238U reaction is analyzed. Information about the energy dependence of the shell corrections is obtained from this analysis.
