Abstract

A sharp increase in the flow velocity and water level in rivers occurs with a large volume and intensity of precipitation, which can lead to deformations or destruction of culverts. It is possible to assess the impact of water flow using formulas and reference data from regulatory documents, and in some cases, using physical and computer modeling methods. The work is devoted to the assessment of changes in the relief of the river bottom under the action of a fluid flow near the intermediate support of the bridge crossing. Several types of intermediate supports (pile and massive) of various shapes with the same cross-sectional area are considered. The study was carried out using computer modeling methods implemented in the Flow3D program, which provides high-precision modeling of flows with a free surface.
