Abstract

The motion of a pair of edge dislocations in an elastic field of point defects is investigated taking into account the interaction of dislocations both with each other and with the phonon subsystem of the crystal. It is demonstrated that the retarding force is a nonmonotonic function of the velocity of dislocation glide with two extrema displayed under certain conditions.
