Abstract

Macro Defect Free (MDF) cements are cement polymer composites obtained by using water soluble polymers aiming to achieve very high mechanical properties. In spite of their excellent flexural strength, the main issue of these composites is the behavior in humid atmosphere. MDF flexural strength decreases sometimes more than half of their initial strength when the samples are in contact with water. Aiming to improve the water sensitivity of MDF samples, new methods have been proposed. The effects of obtaining technology of MDF on their characteristics from morphological point of view, by using contact angle measurements have been studied.
