Abstract
Steel wear in slipping friction at a monolithic abrasive is considered. Analytic formulas are obtained for the wear and frictional coefficient as a function of the key factors. A characteristic of wear resistance that takes account of the strength and plasticity of the metal is proposed. The agreement of the calculation results and experimental data is good.
