Abstract

The influence of the concentration and the charge of water-soluble (WS) polyelectrolytes on the kinetics aggregation of particles kaolin was investigated. It is shown that with the alternation of slow and fast mixing result to the formation of large and strong flocs. The rate of aggregation and size of particles formed flocs increases with the concentration of the reagent and the charge density of the polyelectrolyte. It was found that at low concentrations (10 -5 ~2,5·10 -3 %) polyelectrolytes (cationic - Zetag 89, Zetag 92, anionic - Magnafloc 155, Magnafloc 156 flocculants) flocculation of kaolin suspensions increases and the higher concentrations of flocculants (more on 2,5·10 -3 %) - suspension of kaolin is stabilized.
