Abstract

The influence of freestream turbulence on the transitional characteristics of a 2D square prism shear layer was considered experimentally. Bypass transition was observed to cause intermittent shear layer reattachment; this event has a cascading influence downstream, altering the formation of the von-K\'arm\'an street.
