Abstract

Abstract We investigated the influence of frequency filtering on autoregressive modeling. It was determined that bandpass filtering is necessary for autoregressive modeling. But the number of mistriggering increases with more narrow bandwidth. The model order depends on the event modeling as well as the microseism modeling. The fourth order seems to be a good compromise. Although the results of detectability are comparable with the seismic report, the high false alarm rate and the detectability of extremely small nearby events handicap the real-time detection. Probably, this mistriggering arises from inherent model deviations, which occur during the real-time processing.
