Abstract

This paper deals with the investigation of electric, mechanical strength variations as well as the charge density of isotactic polypropylene (PP) and ZrO2 nanoparticles obtained in various supramolecular structures (SMS) which have undergone electrothermal polarization (ETP). To change the SMS, the cooling regime of PP melt is varied. It is established that after ETP of PP + ZrO2 nanocompositions, their strength and charge density are varied. In addition, correlation dependences between the nanocomposition strength and charge number accumulated in the polarization process have been observed. Also, studies have been made on the influence of nanoparticle sizes in nanocomposites and their strength characteristics. Furthermore, to estimate the change structural elements of nanocomposites due to the electrothermal polarization condition, structure investigations by electron microscope before and after ETP were carried out.
