Abstract
The influence of structural phase transition on the magnetic, ferroelectric and dielectric properties of the ceramic composition BaTi1-x Ni x O3 (x = 0.0 , 0.05, 0.1, 0.15) was investigated. It is observed from Raman spectroscopy that both hexagonal and tetragonal polymorphs coexist in all doped compositions. The magnetization of doped ceramics is enhanced with the increase of Ni ion concentration as well as of hexagonal volume fraction in doped ceramics. However, the dielectric constant, ferroelectric Curie temperature and saturation polarization are decreased systematically with increase of hexagonal volume fractions.
