Abstract

The phase transition sequence of SMAs is characterized by transformation temperatures (Mf, Ms, As, Af). These temperatures can be determined by differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analysis. The present study addresses the influence of specimen location in SMA spring and effect of induced residual stress during sample preparation on transformation temperatures of SMA helical spring using DSC analysis
