Abstract

1. The productivity of loading machines depends largely on the rubble, and can be increased by 27–30% by reducing the throw of the rock away from the face. 2. The main factor influencing the throw of rock away from the face is the specific explosives consumption. By reducing the specific consumption by reducing the total number of blast holes and increasing their depth within reasonable limits, dictated by requirements of fragment-size composition and optimum blast hole utilization factor, we can reduce the throw of rock away from the face.
