Abstract

Laser induced pressure pulse measurements on silicone rubber are discussed in term of attenuation and thermal dilatation. Then, the generation of space charges in silicone rubber has been studied under DC voltage at high temperature (60/spl deg/C). Homocharges near the electrodes and negative charges in the bulk are identified. Finally, a specific procedure to trap space charges is applied which allows us to analyze the influence of space charge on dissipation factor (tan /spl delta/).
