Abstract

In order to study the impact and role of the implementation of soil testing and formula fertilization project on China's agricultural development and urbanization, this paper selects the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2000 to 2018 based on the perspective of agricultural development and urbanization, and uses the difference-in-differences method (DID) analysis based on double fixed effects to test the impact of soil testing and formula fertilization project on the total sown area of crops and the level of urbanization. The main conclusions are as follows: First, soil testing and formula fertilization project have a positive and significant impact on increasing the total sown area of crops in various provinces, but there is a one-year lag period; Second, the level of urbanization is also significantly positively affected by soil testing and formula fertilization project, but there is also a two-year lag period.
