Abstract

Shape memory alloy is an ideal energy dissipation material for engineering structures because of its good energy dissipation capacity. SMA braces can improve the seismic performance of frame structures, and the arrangement of braces has a great influence on the seismic performance of frame structures. In this paper, the interstorey drift ratio and the base shear force of the structure are selected as the evaluation criteria, and the dynamic time-history analysis method is used to study the influence of six SMA braces on the seismic performance of the structure. The results show that SMA brace arrangement 1 and arrangement 4 have obvious advantages.
