Abstract

The effect of pyridine-based ligands, capable of coordinating e improving stability with Pb 2+ defect sites through nitrogen atoms, on the photostability of MAPbI 3 thin films under solar radiation of 70–80 mW cm −2 at 50–60 °C in an inert atmosphere has been investigated using UV-VIS spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis and atomic force microscopy. It has been found that the addition of 4,4′-bipyridine to the perovskite precursor improves the photostability of a MAPbI 3 thin film, withstanding illumination for 1400 h.
