Abstract

The carrying capacity of hydrostatic turntable was influenced by the profile error. A direct method to solve the static equilibrium was proposed to obtain the axial motion error and the angular motion error components of the turntable based on the structural characteristic of the heavy duty CNC hydrostatic turntable and under the assumption that the turntable is a rigid body and has no deformation. Thus the working state was achieved. The guide way of a hydrostatic turntable was analyzed with the method, and the influence of the profile error component on the variation of the axial motion error and angular motion error components with wavelength was obtained. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the turntable guide way, this paper investigates the relationship between the supporting force of a single hydrostatic pad with the wavelength. The results show that the profile error of hydrostatic turntable has a great influence on bearing characteristics, and the axial motion error and the supporting force show similar performance with the profile error and increase with the increasing of the profile error amplitude.
